Jumpstart is an initiative created to foster an active community of information and communications technology entrepreneurs, software developers, creatives, investors and people that love creating mobile and & web solutions and companies in Zimbabwe.
The initiative has come about from the realization of the increasing need to bring together individuals and businesses that are passionate about using mobile and web technologies to create successful companies.
One of the main objectives of the initiative is to provide a platform for the development of tech and business skills of entrepreneurs through events that enrich the information and communications business ecosystem in Zimbabwe. The expected result is the emergence of successful local mobile and web technology services and products that have a great chance to scale to a global level.
Jumpstart will create a platform for young tech entrepreneurs to network, connect with other talented individuals and build relationships that will form the foundation of successful startups. Jumpstart will also provide the opportunity for business mentorship by established entrepreneurs as well opportunities for seed funders and entrepreneurs to meet.
Where in other parts of the world physical hubs have been established, we acknowledge that this may not be immediately possible, and instead of waiting for when it’ll be, we can all do that which we can and that is to have a community anyway which does organizes meet-ups and coordinates events to improve our tech business ecosystem.
The Jumpstart initiative is not for profit and is steered by a volunteer team. The following members of the community:
Bradely Searle [C2 Media]
Clinton Mutambo [eSaja]
Limbikani Makani [TechZim]
Tatenda Furusa [Mealie Media]
